Learn to recognize the signs–or indicators–of terrorism-related suspicious activity. September 25 has been designated as national “If You See Something, Say Something®” Awareness Day. The campaign works with partners year-round to inspire, empower and educate the public on suspicious activity reporting. We all have something worth protecting—our family, our friends, our community. This campaign can help identify the many reasons why they should “See Say” by showcasing a variety of locations—sporting events, school, concerts—where staying vigilant is vital. Homeland security begins with hometown security. Help empower everyday citizens to protect their neighbors and the communities they call home by recognizing and reporting suspicious activity. Across the country, we all play a role in keeping each other safe.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) partnered with the five major professional sports leagues (Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Football League, Major League Soccer, and the National Hockey League) to develop a message that encourages the public to report suspicious activity to local law enforcement. This initiative also informs travelers (business and leisure) of the importance of recognizing and reporting suspicious activity.
