National Junior Honor Society

The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle and high school levels, students. More than just an honor roll, NHS and NJHS serve to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in official Honor Society activities. NHS and NJHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

Book Battle Sponsored by Mrs. Bailey

book-club Are you interested in Books? Do you want to put your knowledge to the test about 15 books? The book club is a club where participants read 15 books that are from the Sunshine State Young Readers book list. These books are all really interesting and fun to read. There are fantasy books, mysteries, and many other genres! We meet once a month to discuss these books, and to discuss ideas about Book Battle. We also meet on BlackBoard and will have more meetings closer to the battle date. Out of the participants in Bookclub, 6 will be able to represent our school to go to Book Battle, a super fun event held at the District Office! The 6 members of Book Battle will be assigned 2-3 books to be ‘experts’ on. At Book Battle, we get to dress up as either characters from the 15 books, or dress up to show school spirit! This event is May 1st and we would love for you to join! If you have any questions or would like to see if there are any spots left please contact Mrs. Bailey!
