Mrs. Moore

I was born and raised in the little town of Brookfield, Connecticut. My dad was a train engineer so I loved spending days with him at work riding the train to New York City and exploring. I attended college in a small little town outside of Buffalo, NY called Houghton College. There I studied Elementary and Special Education, and had some exciting student teaching opportunities from an inner city charter school to a rural school and an international school, each one opened my eyes to the many aspects of education. Following college, I decided to get up and move to Tanzania ( a beautiful East African country), and spent a year in a rural refugee town of Kasulu, Tanzania. I love it there and even forced my husband to go back with me for our honeymoon! While I was there I set up a small kindergarten and taught the local children. It was without a doubt my favorite thing and the relationships I made with the children and their families are some that I hold most dear. When returning to the states after a year abroad, I came to Florida for a quick getaway and interviewed at some school and soon found myself moving to SWFL to work at Oasis Charter School. I worked there for several years, working as a math teacher, ESE teacher and then to second grade for three and half years. I live in lovely Cape Coral with my fun husband, and our two yorkies Radar and Trigger, who somehow make it into every conversation I have. This will be my second year here at Lee Virtual School and I am excited for this year!
