2015-2016 Lee Virtual School Video Team

Purpose:  Lee Virtual School’s student video team will learn, create and communicate news about the LVS community to our school, region, and the world.  This web page is intended to be a resource for students for reference.  It is an ongoing project, so be sure to check back often.

Meetings:

Our Team will meet 12:15-1:30, approximately twice each month on alternating Wednesdays  during the school year based upon the following schedule:

  • November: 4th & 18th
  • December: 2nd & 16th
  • January: 13th & 27th
  • February: 10th & 24th
  • March: 9th & 23rd
  • April: 6th & 20th
  • May: 4th & 18th

NOTE:  Please be sure to watch the school website for information regarding meetings and events specific to the LVS Video Team.

Expectations:

All students will attend bi-weekly info meetings.  Team members will be expected to work in teams of 2 or more to create, record, edit and publish at least two, high quality, informative, online news videos that are between :30-2:00 in length every month.  

Equipment

Production equipment is available for students to use anytime during regular school hours.  Equipment is kept in the Principal’s office and can be checked out from any office staff member.  Students are strongly encouraged to use their own devices including video cameras, smart phones, tablets, etc.  Please note, VIDEO FILES CAN GET VERY LARGE.  It is strongly suggested that students have a dropbox or other dedicated “cloud” account with at LEAST 2Gb of storage in which to store video clips and projects.

From a small camera to phone/tablet to hi end HD pro camera, all equipment must be treated with care.  Students are expected to be responsible and use equipment only for appropriate content.
